The Empty Chair ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

It was his chair
He was a giant of a man
At least to a 4 year old
I would sit in his lap
Listening to his stories
Tales of his youth
All his adventures
His days on the mountain
His life on the river
Time stood still on Squash Hollow Road
And I listened
Lost in his words
Stories and words
That remain with me still
This was his chair
And his spirit still remains

      1. You are lucky! I never knew mine as one died before I was born and the other died when I was one year old. And sadly, neither one of my parents regaled me with any stories. :/
