Waiting For The Words – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Sometimes
When the words
Won’t come
I sit quietly
In the dark
Waiting for
The words
That I know
Are hidden in my heart
So I wait
For without those words
There can be no poem

  1. I don’t know if it works this way with your poetry, but I find that ideas for my prose often come when I’m not waiting or searching for the words. An idea pops into my head and the content almost takes care of itself
