When We Were Kids
We all remember our first loves
When we were kids
Little girls and little boys
giggling and laughing
Holding hands and making plans
Not really knowing what love was
But we liked the feeling, laughing and blushing
when our friends would sing,
“Susan and Walter, sitting in a tree
K-i-s-s-i-n-g
First comes love, then comes marriage
Then comes Walter with a baby carriage“
But kids grow up and drift apart
and then one day they meet again
older and wiser, but remembering
how good it felt when they were K-i-s-s-i-n-g
This time they both know what love is
and childhood memories of when they were kids
brought them together
in love again
