The Dimming Of The Day
It’s late in the afternoon.
Soon it will start…
the dimming of the day.
Just before darkness
the shadows will walk,
knowing that they will disappear
when the darkness arrives.
It’s all part of the
Here and Now.

I really like your poem. The shadows of trees and other objects disappear with the coming of the dark. And we also vanish into death when the darkness of the tomb closes over us. I’m reminded of Shakespeare’s reference to “walking shadows” in, I think Macbeth. Kevin
