The Land Of The In-Between
As I walked through the woods, I came upon a sign
that read, “Welcome to the land of The In-Between.
We welcome all who find themselves lost and in-between
writing and writer’s block.” I heard a booming voice
ask, “Are you ready to make Senseless Sacrifices to gain
entry? Will you spill some Liquid Love from your pen?
We have worked a long Time Bringing peace to lost souls!”
I didn’t answer and the voice continued, “We have learned
the secret of Morphing Into Magma. We need some Crystal
Clear Consolations from you before you can join us.”
I was expecting to see Popsicle Periscopes pop up from
the ground. Instead, all I heard were Saturated Pleasantries
and muttering about Cylindrical Circumstances. It made
me wonder which way the Pendulum of Prosperity would
swing for me.
I continued and came upon a large sign that read
“Witchy Warts now appearing at The Spotted Speck.
Opening acts are Glass Houses and Cloudy Dimensions
It was all sounding very Rinky Dink to me and I knew I was
going to have to choose between Fight or Flight.
I walked further along and entered a small tavern to rest
my weary bones. I ordered a glass of Bavarian Cream Dreams
while sitting at the bar and pondering the Forgotten Ruins
of my life. I needed a glass of Bottled Bliss as I listened to the
bartender tell his Leathery Lies.
I picked at the plate of Artichokes and Anchovies he brought.
I recalled a tale about The Night of Nin and the short Window
of Warning people had to prepare for it. The sky was already
filling with Pastel Perspectives of the sunset and soon the
bears would be dancing in their Frilly Frocks.
It was The Century of Certainty and I had Hobnobbed
with rich and poor. I had met Hickory and Dickory and
even Doc. I finished my drink and went outside to make
my Candy Curtsies and pick Velvety Violets. Once I presented
them to the heavens, my Anchored Avenues became
secure in the Land Of The In-Between.

I read over the prompts this morning and I was like, “Huh. How’s Walt going to put them all together into a cohesive story? You totally did it. So awesome! 😀
By the way! I’m nominating you for the 3 days 3 quotes 3 tags challenge. If you don’t want to do it, that’s fine. It’s totally up to you. 😀

Thank you! What’s odd is that I can write a short story that’s full of prompts, but not for a single prompt. And I enjoy making up stories!

You can do it, you have to give yourself time, though. Like, plan for 2-3 days ahead, then give it a whirl!
