Here For You
My inspiration for this poem is from
another one of my friend Augustine Hart’s
beautiful photos from the Adirondacks.
Heavenly shades of night are falling
and here I stand in all my cold, naked
splendor
the setting sun warms my bare branches
warming me to prepare
for the long cold night
the sunlight feels so good
but it will be soon be gone
until morning
a long, cold winter lies ahead
the winter winds
have already started
the cold air
will be carried on the winds
until spring
then, once again, my branches
will leaf out, providing cool
shady refuge in the heat of summer
I am here for you
no worries
