The Answers I’ve Been Seeking

I’ve been searching for answers
for most of my life
I’ve been working at changing
for my whole life
and now I think I know

I’m walking to the edge
of where the river meets the sky
all my life I’ve been searching
for answers to what I don’t know

the answers have always
been right in front of me
written in footsteps I make across the snow as I walk
to the river

all the wolves are howling
as I hold my head up and close my eyes
and I see the answers
I’ve been hoping to find

they are written in the water
and they’ve been there all along
