I Wish You Love

I wish you the best
Happiness
Smiles
Moonlit nights filled with love

I wish you passion
From my night songs
Carried on soft ocean breezes
To bring a smile to your soul

I wish you good health
Good fortune
Good times
And good friends

But most of all
I wish you love

Fading Away

Sometimes I feel like fading away
Back to the days when I would play
The days when music was all that mattered
Before the world we knew was shattered

When I was young and had no pain
And all the pretty girls knew my name
Playing drums and singing songs
Those are the days where I belong

Those memories still make me smile
If even for only a little while
So take my hand and be with me
Together we will fade away

My Wish For You in 2018

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making
new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing
yourself, changing yourself, changing your world.
You’re doing things you’ve never done before,
and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for
myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing
mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before.
Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good
enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love,
or work or family or life.  Whatever it is you’re scared
of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and
forever.

Make it happen. Do it now.

Happy New Year and Thank You to all my friends… old, new and yet to be!

A Peaceful Harbor

There are moments in our lives
When we all need a peaceful harbor
When the realities of our lives
Become overwhelming

My wish for you all is to be at peace
To take the time you need for yourselves
To enjoy the images my words may create for you
And to know that you are important to me

My hope is that my poetry
Will become your peaceful harbor
Bringing you a quiet calmness
And renewing your spirit
