I Can’t Sit Still

I can’t sit still
I have to move
with restless legs
I have to cruise

the doctor gives me
pills to take
to help me out
but they keep me awake

I wish my legs
would settle down
but they spasm and twitch
unless I move around

I tell my legs
it’s time to rest
they just spasm and say
“surely you jest”
