Saturday Morning Memories

Saturday mornings were always special
growing up I always watched the cartoons
Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Casper and others

there was no school on Saturdays
so Saturday became baseball day
in the fall it was football day

Mom was making breakfast
Dad was working on his sermon for Sunday

after the cartoons came the series
Roy Rogers, Wyatt Earp, Davy Crockett
Daniel Boone, The Lone Ranger

Saturday mornings were for kids
we didn’t have a care in the world

I wish they would bring back Saturday morning cartoons for the kids. It is all news and sports Saturdays now. … how will they sell all the sugary snacks? LOL! Great poem!
