Why I Write Poetry

I write poetry to express my feelings
it cleanses my heart
and empties my soul

I write poetry to relax
it releases my demons
it helps me cope with my reality

writing poetry keeps me sane
it takes my mind off my anxiety
I write for the enjoyment of writing

writing poetry has an unexplained
way of removing my cares
of the day
so I write
