Shadow Of The Moon

This morning, April 28, 2021,
I will be in surgery
to repair an abdominal hernia.
Prayers will be appreciated.

As I stand in the shadow of the moon
I remember how we met
how I knew that your light
would lead me to a place
that would be right for me

We talked of the ancient stories in the stars
and the ancient secrets in their dust,
memories of our lifetimes
and the past which connected us

It was like a dream
lifting me from the fog
as I followed your starlight
wanting to know you better
and feeling like I already did

I still watch for the shadow of the moon
knowing it will guide our hearts
and keep us together
through many lifetimes
