Midnight, Christmas Eve
All the toys are put together
presents are wrapped
milk and cookies left for Santa
the fireplace was crackling earlier
just the glow of the coals now
they will be out when Santa arrives
the tree is decorated
the lights are twinkling
stockings are hung on the mantle
the cuckoo clock lets us know the time
we must be tired
the elf on the shelf keeps moving
outside the snow is falling
and we hear footsteps on the roof
our house and our hearts are filled with magic
It’s Midnight, Christmas Eve
