The Unknowing ~ Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

I was standing there
Alone
Naked
No idea where
No idea why
Nothing around

No sounds
Wondering what was to happen
The sun felt good
On my naked skin
I could move

So I slowly stepped forward
One step at a time
Using my cane for balance
I was taking steps
But not moving
I felt like I had been here before
At another time
Could I be naked for a bath
Or to be disinfected
Was this because of
The corona virus
I guess I’ll find out

In the meantime
I’ll just enjoy the warm sun
On my skin

And wait patiently
I felt it start to rain
Music was falling like rain
Each raindrop held a different note
The rain created its own symphony
I still wondered why I was here
The music I was hearing was soothing
A door opened and I moved to a different room
Warm air covered my body
Drying the drops of music
That had fallen like rain
A voice said
“You are clear Walter
No signs of any virus

Or other illnesses
You are a survivor
Congratulations”

At last I knew
Things would be OK
