My Father’s Eyes ~ Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

I have my father’s eyes
Deep blue with a twinkle
Dad’s eyes were filled with
The wisdom of the ages
When people brought my Dad
Their problems
You could see
The compassion in his eyes
When one of his parishioners
Passed away
Tears would form in his eyes
His compassion was real

And so was he
You could see it in his eyes

Happy Father’s Day to all Dads!
