Welcome Springtime ~ Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

I really need spring
Enough winter
I’m old and cold
Even my goosebumps
Have goosebumps!
Ah yes… springtime.
Pollen starts forming
If you have no cash
You have nothing to carry
Let’s not forget
The Thaw”
Warmer temps bringing rain
Ground water thaws
The yards soften
And we get mud!
Mud on dog paws
Tracked into the house
Welcome Springtime!

  1. Growing up we had a little “peekapoo” dog that would bring in those springtime muddy paws. And before he hot his summer hair cut he would occasionally get mud on his belly fur too. I miss that little dog! Great poem Walt!
