There She Was ~ Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

There she was
Standing there
Looking out
At the ocean
Her graying
Blonde hair
Blowing softly
In the ocean breeze
She came here everyday
But neither of us spoke
Was it shyness
Fear of getting hurt again
We may never know
Unless someone
Takes the first step
If not
The sound of silence
Shall remain
Relentless…
Undisturbed…
Nobody knows
What might have been

      1. And I appreciate your poetry, Walt! Let me tell you, that when I’m low, I usually read a poem by a select few writers whose words are powerful and serene and you, my friend, are definitely the North Star of that list. I instantly feel at peace reading you.. there’s magic in your heartfelt words.
My greetings to you and Susan, dear one.
