The Wayward Path ~ Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

While walking
Through the woods
At dusk
I came across
The Wayward Path
I had heard of it
But I had never seen it
The legend was true
She was the Keeper of The Wayward Path
And she was beautiful
“Take my hand” she said
I did
“Walk with me”
I did
“Hold me”
I did
Kiss me”
I did
I will always remember
Our day on the path

  1. Your beautiful poem reminded me of Robert Frost’s ”The Road Not Taken”: ”Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”

Love makes all the difference, doesn’t it? 😉

  2. I love the poem! And that picture certainly sets the mood. …did I miss your birthday? I hope it was happy. Not a lot of celebrating can be done during the pandemic shut downs. Did you at least get some cake? 🎈🥳🎂
