My Only True Friends ~ Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

I only have two true friends
I have many friends
Many that would do anything for me
When I say true friends
I mean friends who are always with me
My only true friends are Music and Poetry
I have grown up with music
Dad was a minister and Mom played piano and organ
They had their own radio show
I took piano lessons
And finally settled on drums
Music soothes my soul
And calms my weary mind
Poetry keeps me sane
Writing poetry takes my mind
Off my chronic pain
They both fit together perfectly
Giving me purpose to my life

  1. “They had their own radio show”
    What! Wow!
A family of creators and artists!
I smiled when I read your lines on learning piano and settling for drums!
    A true musician!

On a humorous side – When one is born with the name ‘Page’, the purpose in life does get easier to decipher hehe

      1. I haven’t really been writing lately. So much going on here, no time to sit and think. Tell Susan to fatten you up a bit! You need to eat to keep your strength up. As for your grandsons, tell them why. You’d be surprised how much the little ones understand that adults do not. Just love them, that’s all they really need from you. I’m an email away if you want to reach out. May take me a year or two to answer, but eventually, I get there. LOL Love you ❤
