It is the coming of the dawn
My writing is done
You’ve gone to work
I sit and review last night’s words
Enjoying my morning coffee
Last night’s poems were about you
My feelings
My desires
My inappropriate thoughts
It was a good night
But I’m tired
I finish my coffee
Turn off the light
Lean back in the recliner
And slowly fall into slumber
Knowing that my dreams
Will be of you
