The Branch In The Middle ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

It used to be
When I would see
A poet sitting in a tree
How strange
How odd
It occurred to me
But now I’m that poet
Sitting in that tree
A branch on the left
And one on the right
But the branch in the middle
Belongs to me
So hold your judgment
When you see
A poet sitting in a tree
You can sit on the left
Or you can sit on the right
But the branch in the middle
Belongs to me
