They Call Us Dreamers ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

We are Poets
Word artists
Creating images in your minds
Using only our words
We live to write
We write to live
We are the fallen ones
Rising from the ashes
The odd balls
The nut cases
Putting words on paper
Just to keep ourselves sane
Some call us nerds
Our poems contain
The delicate sound of thunder
Or the silence of a drum solo
We are all different
Yet all the same
I write for you
I write for me
I write for us
It make no sense
But yet it does
Dig deep into the words
You will find the meanings
You have searched for
You will find
That what you believed in
Was never the truth
The truth, my friend, is here
In these words, on this page
Believe it, embrace it
Live it
Be it!
This is my gift
Do with it what you will
They call us dreamers
And yes we are
We are Poets
Charter members
Of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
The time has come
What’s done is done
Elvis has left the building
Goodnight Y’all

      1. Why are we so self critical Walt, I have taped recordings of my radio broadcast days when I do rerun them I often wonder what peoples opinion really were. Still it’s nice to be able to use the voice there are so many who don’t have this choice.
