Transformation – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

~~A little fantasy darkness today~~

My darkness is knocking at the door
It knows when I am vulnerable
Too weak and too tired to fight it
It is a powerful and seductive force
Slowly entering my mind
Through my small openings of weakness
I can feel it smiling as it moves freely
Overpowering all that is right and good in me
Until I can no longer fight it
And I no longer want to
So I embrace it
Whispering, “Welcome back old friend”
I no longer feel the pain
The pain is fuel for the dark light I now am
And I become Mr. Hyde to Dr. Jekyll
I feel the power of being filled with darkness
I let even more creep in
And as I look up
I hear myself howling
My transformation is complete
