Candlelight & Sleepless Nights – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Many of my nights are sleepless
Sitting with my dogs
Deciding on what to write
My inspiration comes by candlelight
Often while mesmerized by the flickering flame
Opening my eyes to what’s hidden there
I have become a poet of the night
Writing by candlelight
During my sleepless nights

  1. Really great post, Walt!! I love writing late at night/early a.m. by low light. Haven’t tried a candle. I will have to try that. For me the trade off of writing a poem is worth less sleep – just me!

      1. You’re welcome. I am doing ok… it is starting to hit me a little now, going back to “normal” days and not having Dad a part of that now. Thanks for asking! I hope you are having milder pain days!
