Merry Christmas, 2018 – A Christmas Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Revised & re-posted from 2017
We made it to another Christmas!
Congratulations to all of us!

I have so many thoughts about Christmas this year. It has always been very important to me, since we celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. Like many others, I also enjoy the music, the light displays and decorations, the cards and wishes from friends and family and the softness that seems to permeate our world.

Christmas is a time for family and friends, a time for giving and a time for special memories. As I celebrate this on my blog, Walt’s Writings,
I celebrate all of you, my friends, followers and fellow bloggers.
You have accepted me into your community of writers and poets
and I have made many wonderful friends and learned much
from all of you. Yes, the photo above is really me!

The most treasured Christmas gifts are not material things,
but gifts of listening, of showing kindness, and of giving time.
You have given all of these to me, The magic of Christmas to me
is not in the presents, but in the friendship and acceptance that you
have shown my writing and poetry. Christmas magic is silent.
ou don’t hear it, you feel it, you know it and you believe in it.
You have believed in me. I have felt it and I know it.
For that, I am forever grateful.

I hope that all of you get to spend time with people
you love this Christmas and that you do something that makes
you happy. May the magic and heavenly gifts of Christmas
gladden and fill your hearts with joyful songs, cheerfulness
and laughter. Do as much good as you can, as long as you can,
any way you can, wherever you can, for anyone you can,
until you no longer can.

Merry Christmas dear friends!
