Gone – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Floating
Nothing holding me
Just floating
No clouds
No wind
Just floating
Looking down
Seeing myself laying there
Wondering
Is this death?
A dream?
Or just a hallucination?
Weightless
Just floating
Going nowhere
Not caring
No sounds
Just nothingness
Like the vastness of space
Just floating
The darkness deepens
So dark
So quiet
No one there
No one around
Not a soul
Not a sound
And then

Nothing
