On The Edge Of A River – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

I sat on a rock at the edge of a river
Watching the water flow
The ripples glistened in the sunlight
As the water flowed over the rocks

There is a quiet magic in the sound of a river
The small waterfalls created
As it flows over submerged logs
Quiet my soul

I could feel it flowing through me
I felt it
I heard it
Only a river can do that for me

The moving water is hypnotic
Soothing my worries
Carrying me away
On the River of Belief

Soon the ink from my pen
Started to flow onto my notebook
Forming my poetic words
As I sat on the edge of a river

  1. Walt- There is something about a body of water that makes me feel at peace. You did an incredible job capturing that experience. I could visualize everything in this poem. Thanks for the great read!
