These Are The Days – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

These are the days
We will always remember
The December days leading up to Christmas
Filled with wonder and childlike dreams
Christmas music on the radio
Giant Christmas catalog from Sears Roebuck
Letters to Santa
Making Christmas cookies
Handmade decorations for the tree
Dreaming of a white Christmas
Hanging our stockings
Putting up the Christmas tree
Christmas lights on houses
Sending and receiving Christmas cards
The little drummer boy
The Grinch, Rudolph and Frosty
Trying so hard to be good
Trying to sleep on Christmas Eve
And finally
Santa came!

These are cherished memories
That will never be replaced
Only added to
As we make new memories
These are the days
