You And Me – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

This is dedicated to my wife Susan,
who has been with me every step
of the way… loving me, tolerating
me and caring for me.

I remember you and me
Back when life was so carefree
We fell in love, it was meant to be
When you were you and I was me

You’d sit and play guitar for me
And I’d write songs for you to sing
Though time has aged both you and me
Our love is stronger than it used to be

So here I am, writing poetry
Remembering all the memories
We both are older, it’s plain to see
But you’re still you and I’m still me
