The Ruins – A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

The ruins of our lives still call us
Those voices in our minds
Won’t ever be quiet until we find
A way to return to the ruins

Maybe if we clean up the ashes
The pain will fade away
Perhaps that’s the price
We all need to pay

Maybe the ruins
Were only beginnings
Maybe ruins are meant
To cause a renewal

Perhaps the only way out
Is to return to the ruins
Overcome our demons
And rise from our ruins

    1. Thank you Wulf. I’m getting concerned that my writing is becoming more and more dark and dreary. I’m going through a “fuck it all stage” and just mentally and physically exhausted. I’ll be ok once I wrap my head around things and accept what seems to be my new normal. You’re a good friend Wulf and I appreciate you.
