Years of running
Years of drumming
Mile after mile
Endless drum solos
Late nights
Early mornings
Two packs a day
For too many years
Junk food
COPD
Scoliosis
Hearing loss
15 surgeries
I did it to myself
Scars
Showing that I’ve lived
But the damage is done

An homage to Neil Young’s The Needle and the Damage Done?

Haven’t heard that song. This was inspired by The Damage Is Done by Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society. Thanks for commenting Steve!

Our scars define who we were and who we are. I doubt we’re done yet. 😊❤️

Take care my friend, it’s not the damage we did to ourselves, it’s about the fun of life we had on the way 😆😀

Love this Walt! As I get older and start to feel the consequences of a wild youth, I wonder if it was worth it. Then I remember how alive I felt at times, how much fun I had and I think, yeah, it was worth it. Other days, the pain fills me with regret. It is never simple, my friend, is it? Love to you!!!

Damn right it was all worth it! And I have no regrets! Yes I have chronic pain and I write about it, but it lets me know I am alive and inspires me to write. If life was simple we’d be bored. Love back to you dear friend. ☺

I’m ok Tanya, thanksy f but theor asking 🙂 It comes and goes. The meds help, but they make me tired. Sooner or later the doctors will figure out the problem and fix or control it. I still wake up every morning and I can still write, so it’s ok. Thanks for asking and caring 🙂
