Sometimes when the words won’t come
I sit quietly in the dark
The reasons why they won’t I know by heart
But I refuse to spend forever in the dark
The darkness becomes a part of me
And I a part of it
I’ve learned that words will always come
When the darkness becomes light
Morning comes with the rising sun
Words flow from my pen
The night was long, but now it’s morning
And The Tennessee Poet writes again

I’m afraid with my back and knees, my riding days are over 😕 Thanks for your always kind words my friend. ☺

Back and knees remind me, too – we’re still alive. My horse is different, but riding and writing are therapy! I’m enjoying your prose and the comments and interactions with your followers. Well done. I hope you don’t mind, I followed, too!

I’m so glad you do! Keep writing! You are helping you AND you are helping all of us, too! 🙂 Writing is good therapy. 🙂
I actually feel akin to the night. I find darkness of night to be comforting. It seems to be a time when I can really think, write, and just breathe and be. 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

Well said! Shining in the dark is easier too – shiny darkness? Breathing, thanks!

Walt I will keep writing through the periods where my mind is blank. I just keep plugging away even if it crap. This was nicely done by the way

I do the exact same thing. I have about 20 points unfinished

I have a feeling lots of poets do the same.

We’ve all felt this, but for me the key is to start writing, and sooner or later, a poem is born.
