The Adventures Of Walt Page, Treasure Hunter

A Fragrant fog had covered the city, making it difficult
to find The secret doors on seventy-fifth street.
Legend had it that behind one of the doors,
one would find Mysterious mounds containing treasure.
A powerful Nantucket breeze had blown the fog in
however, and I couldn’t see my hand in front of
my face, let alone any secret doors.

The legend said that the famous Pancho Villa had
hidden treasure in at least one of the mounds, using
only a Jupiter glow from One lonely lantern. The
treasure was said to be crystals created from
Amethyst tears. The crystals were protected by
layers of Barbed brickles.

As the fog caused by Nature’s reflection lifted, the air
was immediately filled with the scent of Peachy kisses.
I could see Blue skies and blossoms that we had opened.
I knew that it was a sign that the dreaded Coffee Curfews
caused by Karma’s quest for comeuppance were about
to begin again.

The problem was that these curfews were enforced by
Cantankerous Cuties! There were many theories
and Dense speculations about the curfews. If you were
caught drinking coffee, the cuties would pour
Melted ice cream on you and make you wear
Lavender lipstick.

It was also said that maps to the correct door were hidden
in Earthen cathedrals and drawn on Scattered lily pads.
If you found the treasure you would be on Easy street
instead of Fighting for a forever. You would be able
to afford to buy Hippos and Hyenas in Drizzled colors.
You could also afford a Tangerine fusion treatment to
protect you from Hollyhocks and aftershocks.

I never did find any of the secret doors. All I found was
a doorknob with an Ivory luster and a pressed flower
with Frosted petals that were Tinged with scarlet dust.
Once the fog lifted it had become an Icy morn, so I
went back to bed to dream of Wizards and wormholes
like the exhausted treasure hunter I was.

The moral of this story: Let your writing take
you to places that you normally don’t go.
