Dead Man Breathing

Somewhere along my life

I met up with the Queen of Sorrow

It was to her that I sold my soul

And now I’m as dead as yesterday

She took my heart, my love, my all

So now I sit back

Remembering how my end began

The Queen of Sorrow won again

And I’m as dead as yesterday

I never dreamed that she would leave me

But now she’s gone

And I’m alone, too numb to cry

She took my love, my life, my soul

Never again will I go down this road

It all seems like yesterday

But time waits for no one

I sold my soul to the Queen of Sorrow

And now I’m just killing time

Or is time killing me

I’m a dead man breathing

Since I threw it all away

The music disappeared today

And I’m as dead as yesterday

  1. Walt, there is something changing in your style, at least since I’ve been reading your works. The free-form you are writing it carries so much power, and plumbs new depths to your talent. Please don’t stop!!!
