Too Old To Die Young

As we age, we slow down

We take the time to enjoy life

To enjoy love

We know our time is coming

We are not afraid

For we are too old to die young

We cling to those we love

We forgive those who hurt us

We thank those who needed to be thanked

We give hope to those who need it

We comfort those in pain

We give of ourselves

So others may live

All this we do because

We are too damn old to die young

  1. Unlike when we were teenagers the older we get the more we realize
that we have finite amount of time.
And only so much time to get things right or make them right.
    A very poignant piece Walt.
    Have a great day. 🙂

  2. That’s why old age becomes a bliss…waiting to pass into another land, wherever it is! In my dialogue with death fairy, I have requested her:..

    Come softly…tiptoe into my room
Come when the sky is soft pink
I may not be awake to see
My soul would soak in the beauty
And leave this earth with good memories
