The Only Words

The only words that I have to use
Are the words inside my heart
For words are all I have to use
To turn my poems into art

The only words I want to hear
Are you telling me you’re mine
Words can tear a soul apart
It happens all the time

The only words that hurt us
Are those that are left unsaid
The ones that never leave our lips
Words that will never be read

When you are thinking of what to say
Or what to write instead
The only words that matter
Are the ones that never get said

  4. This is lovely, Walt! I often think how important it is that we tell people we love them, that they impact our lives, or that they look beautiful……..we all have the amazing capacity to bring something wonderful into another persons day. You do this all of time!!!!!!
