Our Beloved Kira

After a wonderful visit today with our son Jarrod, our daughter-in-law Melanie and our grandsons, we came home and found that our 15 year old Sheltie, Kira, had passed away… Her heart had finally given out . We buried her near the horses fence in the Secret Garden. She loved her horses and I think she always felt it was her job to watch over them …We will miss our little “Kiki” and her quiet ways… she will wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge along with the pack mates that have gone before her, Ellie Mae, Dakota, Belle, Willow, Dusty and Rose. β€πŸ˜’πŸ’”

  1. So sorry to hear of the death of Kira. 😞

Shelties are wonderful and gentle dogs.

I encountered my first Sheltie on a trip to Scotland with my dad back when I was 8 years old and discovered what wonderful dogs they are.

I bet she’d have been very wonderful and protective of horses indeed.

  2. My son just had to put down his lab of 14 years Saturday. She was really my girl. I loved that puppy. Her hop, her spinaroonies…she will be missed. As will yours. I’d like to think yours and mine will meet somewhere out there…and what trouble they will be!

  3. It’s so hard to lose an animal. Their unconditional love is the reason we are willing to suffer when they go. My heart goes out to you and your wife Walt. Big virtual hug to you both. ❀

      1. Had this experience some years back, now have a five year old always begging for attention sad times. My brother lost their family pet of fifteen years yesterday – one of the family…

  4. I’m very sorry to hear this Walt as I’m sure you loved your dog very much.
I think Kira probably had a very good life with you and Susan as companions. : )
