Have you ever wondered why you write?
Is it for me or is it for you?
Am I writing for the right reasons?
And what are the “right reasons”?
Do I write to get likes?
Comments? Followers?
Or do I write because the words inside me
Simply need to be put on paper?
I write to fill a need in myself and a need in you
A need to release feelings trapped inside
A need for self expression
A need to create a written record of my life
I write to express love, beauty, the wonders of life
I follow no rules, I just write what I feel
I write to create images in your mind
To make you feel what you read
What beautiful statements-I am a creator therefore I write. Perhaps we are all honoring that piece of God within each of us. Thank you Walt for doing so.
You capture very well a question all writer’s should probably ask themselves.
What is the purpose of their writing. I pretty much write for an audience of one… me.
It’s probably a form of therapy as much as it is a form of self-expression.
Have a great day Walt. You deserve it. We all deserve it.
Very nice Walt. I’ve seen the phrase “I write because I can’t not write”. I think that applies to so many of us. I’m glad you do write and I’m glad you’re here.
I thought, when I started my blog I was writing to encourage others. But I realized quite quickly then I was writing for myself. The feeling of connectedness and completeness I have when I’m writing is the evidence

And sometimes I write so I can get to sleep. Last night I had to finally get up and write it down. Then I slept.

I loved these lines
“A need to release feelings trapped inside
A need for self expression”
These lines so clearly defines my purpose of writing.

I write to relax myself, to vent out, to soothe my soul
